Halloween is about to get a whole lot scarier in Cardiff! Lost Lands Cinema, known for their popular pop-up rooftop cinemas and immersive film experiences throughout South Wales, is back with their latest chilling event: The Summonings at the Vaults. This immersive horror cinema experience will take place at one of Cardiff Bay’s most haunted buildings, Portland House, once home to the largest bank vault outside of London.

The Summoning offers more than just a film screening. Upon entering the basement of this historic building, guests will be led in small groups through eerie corridors, discovering who—or what—else has been summoned to the vaults. The venue itself, with its shadowy history, provides the perfect backdrop for a spine-tingling experience.

But the frights don’t end there. Before the movie begins, attendees are invited to explore the spooky immersive pop-ups scattered throughout the vaults. Live DJs, themed photo booths, and food and drink vendors will keep the atmosphere lively, while resident actors are on hand to ensure the scares are dialed up to the max. As Lost Lands Cinema puts it, “This is not your average night at the cinema; it’s an otherworldly experience that blurs the lines between fact and fiction.”

In the 1900s, a bank stored a cursed artifact, leading to strange occurrences. A priest and three nuns were called to perform a ritual, but it went horribly wrong, opening a portal to evil. The nuns died, and the priest closed the portal, only to die mysteriously later. Fast forward 100 years: two teens film a TikTok investigation in the abandoned bank and vanish during a seance. Now, as a Halloween event begins, guests will encounter the spirits of the nuns, the priest, demons, and the two lost TikTokers, trapped between realms.
